Ultrashort pulse laser microfabrication Event: shaping the future of manufacturing

International Laser Week

Del 26 al 29 de octubre 2026. O Porriño, Pontevedra

A forward-looking seminar on advanced microfabrication technologies for the industry, using ultrashort pulse lasers.

Join leading experts to explore the latest developments in laser micromanufacturing, flexible beam shaping, AI-driven process optimization, and different aspects of their industrial implementation, through practical examples and demonstrations, from the results of three cutting-edge European projects.

Introduction

FABulous, in conjunction with OPeraTIC and METAMORPHA, will organise an event within AIMEN's International Laser Week 2026 to present and discuss the projects' key results and demonstrate the laser microprocessing technology in practice.

In addition, for the projects FABulous and OPeraTIC this is their Final Event, where they will showcase key achievements, results and future impact.

The seminar will highlight advances in laser-based precision and micro-manufacturing for functional surfaces, demonstrating the projects’ technological capabilities and application potential. The event will provide a forum to discuss technical challenges, industrial relevance, and future adoption of the different approaches and technologies developed within METAMORPHA, OPeraTIC and FABulous consortiums.

Who is it aimed at?
  • Photonics and advanced manufacturing researchers: Researchers working in laser processing, micro- and nanofabrication, materials science, applied optics, and functional surfaces who want to see the technical results achieved by Metamorpha, OPeraTIC and FABulous and understand the demonstrated capabilities of the laser technology.
  • Industrial end users and adopters: Companies developing or adopting advanced optical components and manufacturing solutions, including end users in automotive, aeronautics, imaging and sensing, optical communications, white goods, etc. who are interested in assessing the demonstrated performance of the laser technology, its application potential, and its relevance for future industrial deployment.
  • Technology centres and applied research organisations: Organisations supporting technology validation, process optimisation, pilot-scale manufacturing, and collaborative innovation that are interested in the projects' demonstrated results and their potential for further development and scale-up.
  • Standardisation and innovation support organisations: Stakeholders involved in industrial standards, technology transfer, innovation ecosystems, and market uptake who are interested in the requirements, barriers, and enabling conditions for wider adoption of the demonstrated laser technology.
